Basil Fried Eggs
I'm pretty conservative when it comes to spices, and even though basil is pretty standard, I have never used it because I didn't know what it goes with. I tend to stick to whatever a recipe calls for, and dill on salmon.
I know... I lead a wild life :)
I have to admit, I'm glad Ken didn't tell me what he sprinkled on our fried eggs this morning, because I probably would not have given it the chance it deserves.
So when I asked him what was on it (after ooh-ing and ahh-ing), I was shocked.
It was so good!!
Maybe this is not new to you at all, but this was a breakfast-changing moment for me. Yay for basil!
All he did, was sprinkle salt and pepper on the eggs as they were cooking, and pinched some basil between his fingers to grind it a bit and sprinkle on top. So yummy!
